Your Guide to the Lead Rental Registry Process

    Step 1: Registration and Training

    Starting in the Summer/Fall of 2025, property owners are invited to register their rental properties through our easy-to-use online portal. Complimentary training sessions will be provided to educate landlords and contractors on lead-safe practices and the specifics of the program

    Step 2: Inspection and Certification

    Once registered, your properties will be scheduled for a comprehensive lead hazard inspection by EPA-certified professionals. Properties that pass the inspection will receive a Lead Safety Certification, affirming they are free from lead-based paint hazards.

    Step 3: Ongoing Support and Compliance

    Montgomery County, in collaboration with state health departments, will offer ongoing support to maintain compliance. We'll provide resources for lead hazard remediation and financial assistance to ensure that managing lead safety is feasible and stress-free for all property owners.
