Free Vaccines for Children and Adults

The Montgomery County Health Department offers free vaccines through the Vaccines for Children (VFC) and Vaccines for Adults (VFA) programs.
These programs help eligible children and adults get important immunizations to protect against serious diseases. Contact us to learn more about eligibility and how to get vaccinated.
Vaccines For Children Program

The Vaccines for Children (VFC) Program is a federally funded program that provides free vaccines to eligible children. It’s designed to make sure all kids can get the vaccines they need, even if their families can’t afford them.
Children may qualify for the VFC program if they:

  • Are enrolled in Medicaid
  • Do not have any health insurance
  • Are American Indian or Alaska Native
  • Have private insurance that doesn’t cover vaccines (these children can receive vaccines at Federally Qualified Health Centers or Rural Health Clinics)

Vaccines are provided at no cost to families, and there are no out-of-pocket fees for the vaccines themselves. This helps protect all children from serious diseases like measles, polio, and whooping cough.
Vaccines for Adults Program

The Vaccines for Adults (VFA) program provides free vaccines to eligible adults
who might not otherwise have access. Adults can receive important immunizations to protect against serious illnesses such as flu, pneumonia, tetanus, and more. The VFA program helps promote community health by increasing adult vaccination rates and preventing the spread of vaccine-preventable diseases.

Who Qualifies?Adults aged 19 and older who meet certain eligibility criteria, including those who are uninsured, underinsured, or belong to specific high-risk groups, may qualify for free vaccines through the VFA program. Eligibility requirements can vary, so please contact the Montgomery County Health Department for more information and to see if you qualify.
